The Advantage of Replacing Your Windows

By July 2, 2018No Comments

A window is broken, it becomes damaged, it’s outdated it just doesn’t fit the style of your home or décor anymore – it happens. Often times Salt Lake City, Utah homeowners don’t get around to installing replacement windows for weeks, months or even years. We’re all living hectic lives and trying to stick to crazy schedules that things can often slip our minds. If quizzed on when the last time their home’s windows were replaced, most homeowners wouldn’t have the slightest clue.

Though it’s important to know when your windows were last replaced and when they should be replaced again, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t know. However, if your windows are broken or damaged and nothing is being done about them, that’s a different situation. Many homeowners don’t realize the disadvantage they leave themselves with when they let their broken or damaged windows go unfixed. Water can seep in, further damage can occur and someone can even get hurt. The last thing any homeowner wants to find is that their pet or child has been injured by a window they should have fixed or replaced months ago.  Sometimes not replacing a window can cost a homeowner more down the line than replacing it from the get-go.

There are so many advantages when it comes to replacing a window. More than we can tell you. Some of those advantages include the curbside appeal of a home. While many homeowners may not care about their home’s curbside appeal, others take the subject very seriously. A window that is chipping paint, warped, swollen, severely outdated or broken can create such a distraction and can take away from the rest of the home. Drawing passerby’s and neighbors in with an ugly and disfigured window is not how many homeowners want to be known. When it comes to homes, cars and other products, outside appearances do really matter.

The way your home looks can affect the way you feel about your home and space. It can also affect the way your neighborhood views you and, of course, how much your home is worth. Resale value is one of the biggest reasons why homeowners invest in upgrading and replacing their windows. When a homeowner is looking to appraise their home, sell their home or even rent it, it all comes down to what the home is worth. When your home looks run down, it’s not going to be worth as much as a home that is well taken care of or a home that has new appliances and features.
